Good morning, readers! Hope you’re having a great start to your week. I have off this week and am super excited about doing some house projects, lunch dates, and shopping. But first, lemme update ya on the weekend!
Friday night Pete and I had a little date night. To begin, we went to our favorite Mexican restaurant, Sol.
We always order the Guacamole Live, which they make table side to your liking. Completely demolished those chips and guac! For dinner, I went with the veggies taocs.
Corn, avocado, Oaxaca cheese, and tomatoes- fantastic! Afterwards we caught up with the minions and went to see Despicable Me 2. It was very cute- not as good as the first one, which is one of my favorite movies ever, but cute.
Saturday we celebrated the high school graduation of Pete’s cousin, Allyson. Her family lives right near the shore in Brielle, NJ and have an amazing home right near the inlet.
It was really nice to see Pete’s family, many of which we haven’t seen since our wedding last July!
Pete’s other cousin, Taylor (Allyson’s brother), has been doing an internship with interior design and I was seriously falling in love with some of his designs and decorating ideas. I told him numerous times that I need to hire him. Asap. 🙂
I love how he decorated the outdoor tables- so simple but really stunning. Mason jars were filled with water and floating candles or they had freshly cut hydrangeas. Right alongside the rustic lanterns made for a really nice coastal centerpiece.
Allyson and Taylor live literally a block away from the inlet, so Pete and I took a walk over at one point.
A few years back, we went kayaking and paddle boarding there- so much fun! We definitely want to do that again soon.
I really miss living near the shore, as I grew up 15 minutes away from Belmar beach. Visiting Brielle makes me so nostalgic- I wish we could live in a coastal town! Oh well!
Super fun catching up with the fam, reminiscing, and getting lots of good decorating ideas!
What did you do over the weekend?
Did you grow up near the shore?
