Surprise Birthday Dinner

Sunday was my 30th birthday, and can I just say that so far, 30 absolutely rocks my socks.

Pete told me a while ago that he made dinner reservations for us at Maggiano’s, an Italian family style restaurant. But what I didn’t know was that I’d walk in and my family would be there!

I was so happy to see them and really grateful to my husband for putting the whole thing together- it sure meant a lot to me to be able to celebrate with all of them. And what a celebration it was- Maggiano’s gives you no shortage of food!

Our appetizers included calamari, bruschetta, and caesar salad. The bruschetta is shown on the left. For our entrees, we had chicken saltimbocca, four cheese ravioli, stuffed shells, and tilapia. I stuck with the raviolis because they meatless, but also because they’re my absolute fav. It’s a combo of pesto, alfredo, and marinara sauce on top- sooo good.ย The great thing about this place is that if you finish something, they bring you more!

Boy were we stuffed with all of this food, but not stuffed enough to take some great pics.

My handsome (single!) bro and I.

In between eating, I opened a few presents.

My parents got me the Transport Tote from Madewell, which I’ve wanted forevsss…it’ll be absolutely perfect for traveling! My sister and Jimmy got me picture frames from Pier 1, which will finally complete the frame collection on our mantle. I’m a lucky gal ๐Ÿ˜‰

Soon after, it was time for dessert.

We had tiramisu and pound cake. Somehow I did severe damage to that pound cake despite how stuffed I was.

Here’s to what’s starting off to be the best year yet!

  1. Happy (very belated) birthday!! ๐Ÿ™‚ I LOVE Maggianos! I wish there were one here in Memphis, but the closest one is in Nashville. I love their spaghetti! It’s so good! And you’re right, there is definitely no shortage of food! ๐Ÿ™‚
